Underground world in the center of Kyiv

Several rivers under the main street of Kyiv`s capital and what kind of "egg" can you find in the underground world.

There is a river Klov flowing under the center of Ukraine`s capital. Diggers (those who explore cities from inside) like this place because of the old part of this river collector, that was built in the XIX century. 

Firts you enter the concrete part that was built not a long time ago, a little bit later - an old brick part of this sewer. 

!!! This sewer has nothing to do with sewage. This all is just about rain and underground river

In 2003 two diggers died in this river collector because of the rain.
The thing is that this sewer is not just a river collector but also a rain collector. This means that all the water flows down in this sewer while raining. The level of water in the river rises strongly and it may appear so-called collector wave - a large mass of water that destroys everything in its way. That is why it is important to visit this river collector only when you are sure that it will not be raining. This two diggers were sure that nothing bad would happen. But suddenly it began raining and they died in several minutes. Kyiv diggers comunity (ACIS) installed a memorial plaque in memory of them.

and Alexander Krajnuchenko (Amper, 15) 
who died in river Klov 23.08.2003"

You can see several old bricks but the water made this collector slightly destroyed.

Along the river you can find many manholes that can be used as an emergency exit

This is what water made in this collector for all years the river flows under the street

The river Hreshatik flows from the left, the river Klov from the right. And from the top of a pipe flows Kloviza. So, 3 rivers!

This part of the river collector was built right under the Kyiv`s main street - Hreshatik.  

There are old bricks on the floor that show a huge difference between the concrete and the old part of the collector

That is so-called "egg-shaped" part. The logic of such name is more than obvious =)
